About the Role
As an IT Project Manager at Hyland, you'll be a key enabler of team performance and delivery — guiding agile teams through best practices, removing obstacles, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. You'll facilitate meaningful conversations, drive alignment around shared goals, and help teams operate with clarity, focus, and purpose. This is a role for a servant leader who brings strong facilitation skills, a genuine curiosity for learning, and the ability to influence and motivate without formal authority in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Your Role Responsibilities – Here's What You'll Do
- Guide teams in low-complexity environments to understand and follow basic agile principles, techniques, and software methodologies; teach software methodology concepts and apply practices in a context-sensitive and audience-appropriate manner.
- Plan and facilitate meetings for the purpose of decision making, idea generation, planning, continuous improvement, problem solving, and alignment; lead continuous learning events and actively support team development and growth.
- Guide teams in self-organization, collaborating around goals and objectives, and optimizing the flow of value; collaborate with and support other team-level leaders on backlog management, team performance, and the delivery of business value.
- Ensure the identification and removal of impediments using a network of peer relationships and formal channels; effectively escalate when necessary and proactively reduce team distractions and outside interruptions.
- Promote continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle, leveraging metrics to identify and drive intentional change; assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency across the organization.
- Identify and visualize dependencies impacting planned work; apply a servant leader mindset to influence, motivate, and mobilize team members and business partners toward shared goals and objectives.
Role Essentials
You'll need these skills to hit the ground running:
- Experience as an Agile practitioner with a first-level Scrum Master certification (PSM I or CSM) and a strong understanding of agile principles, techniques, and software development methodologies.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to operate at the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and forthrightness.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact; demonstrated ability to develop and use engaging, informative, and compelling presentation methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, motivate, and mobilize team members and business partners; proven competence in team facilitation with the ability to apply a servant leader mindset — open-minded, empathetic, and effective without formal authority.
- Strong collaborative skills applied successfully within a team and across other areas; sharp, fast learner with intrinsic curiosity, strong business and technology acumen, and the ability to teach and apply methodology concepts in a context-sensitive manner.
What We'd Like to See
These will help you stand out:
- Experience guiding teams through self-organization, backlog management, and value delivery in a cross-functional or matrixed organizational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, visualize, and manage dependencies impacting planned work, with experience effectively escalating impediments through both formal and informal channels.
- Experience leveraging metrics to promote continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle and drive intentional, measurable change across teams.
- Experience planning and facilitating continuous learning events, team retrospectives, and improvement workshops with diverse stakeholder groups at varying levels of agile maturity.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the role.
