Lead Solution Consultant

📍 Location: Remote, USA 💻 Work Arrangement: Remote

About the Role

The Lead Solution Consultant is responsible for providing consulting services with the overall objective of designing and implementing software solutions for customers. This role applies deep product expertise and industry knowledge to solve complex business problems — leading solution design, driving delivery excellence, and serving as a trusted advisor to customers throughout the engagement lifecycle.

Operating as a thought leader within the team, the Lead Solution Consultant contributes significantly to the growth and quality of the department while mentoring others and influencing the evolution of Hyland's products. If you are a technically skilled, customer-focused consultant who thrives on delivering innovative solutions and building lasting relationships — this role is for you.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.

  • Provide consulting services to customers — applying business analysis, solution assessments, and best practice knowledge to design and implement innovative solutions that solve complex business problems.
  • Lead the design and build of solutions including configuring application development tools and integrations — assuming full ownership of the delivery process and monitoring the testing phase to ensure solution quality.
  • Compose and deliver documentation on business analysis and solution requirements — presenting findings to key customer stakeholders for validation, buy-in, and approval while effectively managing scope and timelines.
  • Develop migration plans utilizing best practices for enterprise solutions, compose training materials, and conduct training sessions that demonstrate end-to-end solution functionality for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in pre-sales opportunities with Sales and Business Development — providing technical or industry expertise to ensure accurate work estimates and a smooth transition to the engagement delivery team, while serving as a trusted advisor to drive future engagement opportunities.
  • Operate as a thought leader and mentor — coaching and training team members, influencing product design in collaboration with the development team, and contributing significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department.

Role Essentials

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with significant experience configuring and implementing technical solutions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Skilled with scripting, system architecture, or relational databases — with the ability to design and deliver complex, innovative solutions that address real customer business challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to speak and write with ease, clarity, and impact using a style appropriate to the subject and audience, including executive-level stakeholders.
  • Excellent investigative and analytical skills — adept at asking probing questions to obtain quality information and translating findings into actionable, well-scoped business solutions.
  • Highly organized and experienced at successfully managing multiple priorities, with the ability to drive projects to completion independently — with average travel requirements of 30% annually.

What We'd Like to See

  • Experience providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to developing team members, with a passion for building capability and expertise within a consulting team.
  • Experience performing Project Management responsibilities — including serving as a single point of contact for customer engagements, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and leading scheduling and team mobilization activities.
  • Strong collaboration skills applied successfully within a team as well as across cross-functional areas including Sales, Business Development, technical support, and development teams.
  • Proven ability to influence product design by working directly with development teams to evolve solutions to better meet evolving customer needs.
  • Experience transitioning key engagement knowledge to stakeholders — including technical support, sales, and development — to ensure continued, successful customer support post-engagement.
