Overview

Vice President, Marketing Strategy & Operations

Location: United States Work Arrangement: Remote

About the Role

The Vice President, Marketing Strategy & Operations is responsible for defining and operating the marketing growth engine for the organization. This leader sets the vision for how Marketing drives scalable revenue impact — owning planning, performance, operating model, and infrastructure.

As a key member of the Marketing leadership team, this role acts as a strategic partner to the CMO and executive leadership — ensuring Marketing is accountable to pipeline creation, progression, and measurable business outcomes.

This leader modernizes the Marketing function by embedding AI-enabled execution, data-driven decision-making, and customer-centric growth strategies at scale — while building the operating discipline required to compete globally.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.

  • Partner directly with the CMO to define and operationalize the end-to-end marketing growth strategy aligned to company-wide revenue and market expansion goals — translating business strategy into clear priorities, investment decisions, and execution frameworks across the global Marketing organization.
  • Own the global marketing operating model — balancing centralized strategy with regional execution to support international scale, leading annual and quarterly planning across Marketing, and driving prioritization and resource allocation to maximize pipeline impact and market outcomes.
  • Develop and lead Marketing's performance framework — owning pipeline ROI and revenue impact measurement, leading pipeline and demand creation reviews, and creating executive-level visibility into marketing performance and business contribution.
  • Define and lead a next-generation marketing data and technology strategy — accelerating adoption of AI to support micro-segmentation, content optimization, and predictive insights while evolving the martech ecosystem to support ABM, GEO, and cross-channel engagement strategies.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Marketing Strategy & Operations function — establishing governance frameworks, processes, and best practices that improve speed, quality, and efficiency while leading enterprise-wide change initiatives related to systems, data, and ways of working.
  • Advance digital and AI-driven visibility strategies — including Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) — to ensure competitive presence in emerging search environments while enabling strong alignment across brand, communications, analyst relations, and events to drive market leadership and growth.

Role Essentials

You'll be set up for success if you have:

  • 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience — with demonstrated ownership of strategy, operations, and revenue impact in a growing global B2B software or technology environment
  • Deep experience in demand generation, marketing operations, and performance management tied to pipeline and revenue outcomes — with a proven track record of establishing and scaling marketing growth engines
  • Strong understanding of modern marketing capabilities — including AI, ABM, digital transformation, and martech ecosystem management — with experience applying these to improve marketing effectiveness at scale
  • Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and influence enterprise strategy — with experience serving as a trusted advisor to the CMO and senior leadership on marketing performance, investment trade-offs, and growth opportunities
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred — with demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, and globally distributed organization

What We'd Like to See

Bonus points if you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading budget strategy and investment allocation across channels, programs, and regions — with a track record of optimizing for growth and efficiency while identifying and correcting inefficiencies in digital spend and campaign performance
  • Experience defining and leading data governance frameworks — including resolving account-level data challenges and ensuring data integrity and usability across complex, multi-platform martech ecosystems
  • Proven ability to establish business rhythms, interlocks, and accountability mechanisms across global marketing functions — driving cross-functional alignment with Sales, Product, and corporate leadership
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide change initiatives related to systems, data, and ways of working — with a strong track record of building high-performance cultures focused on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with emerging search and visibility strategies — including Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) — and experience advancing digital and AI-driven approaches to ensure competitive market presence
