About the Role

The Lead Cloud Architect leads the creation and execution of strategic cloud architecture initiatives, driving innovation and ensuring the seamless integration of complex cloud solutions across the organization. In this role, you will set architectural standards, mentor teams, and influence and implement the overall cloud strategy to support long-term business objectives. Technology Tools

  • Cloud Platform: AWS (Solutions Architect Associate Certified or Equivalent)
  • CI/CD: GitHub Actions
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation or Equivalent
  • Programming Languages: Two or More General-Purpose Languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C#)
  • Build & Delivery Pipelines: Advanced Build Environments & Delivery Pipeline Tools

Your Role Responsibilities — Here's What You'll Do

  • Lead the development and execution of cloud strategy, ensuring architectural decisions align with the organization's long-term goals; collaborate with executive leadership and stakeholders to define cloud strategy roadmaps and business cases aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of complex cloud architectures, integrating diverse technologies and services to create cohesive, scalable solutions across the organization.
  • Establish and enforce architectural standards and best practices, driving consistency and quality across cloud solutions and deployments; perform advanced risk assessments and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies addressing security, compliance, and operational risks.
  • Lead the evaluation and integration of new cloud technologies and tools, assessing their potential impact and benefits; drive continuous improvement in cloud architecture practices utilizing feedback, performance data, and industry trends.
  • Manage large-scale cloud transformation projects ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with architectural standards; operate as a trusted advisor and innovative thought leader on cloud issues and trends.
  • Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to team members; provide feedback to leadership on team abilities and contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department through knowledge sharing and best practice coaching.

Role Essentials — What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 3+ years of experience as a Cloud Architect and mastery in two or more general-purpose programming languages.
  • Expert-level understanding of public cloud services with platforms provisioning IaC, with AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or equivalent certification.
  • Mastery with CI/CD of software delivery, specifically GitHub Actions, and mastery with build environments and delivery pipelines.
  • Excellent software modelling skills covering information domain, process, state, security, and logical and physical architectural views, with master-level experience in cloud hosting design patterns, architecture patterns, and quality attributes.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional roles and executive leadership, with up to 10% travel time required.

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale cloud transformation projects, delivering on time, within budget, and in accordance with established architectural standards.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with executive leadership and stakeholders to define cloud strategy roadmaps and business cases aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Experience performing advanced risk assessments and developing comprehensive mitigation strategies to address security, compliance, and operational risks in cloud environments.
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills with a track record of developing team members and contributing to the overall growth and quality of a cloud architecture function.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and integrate new cloud technologies and tools, with a passion for staying current on industry trends and leveraging them to drive continuous architectural improvement.
