Overview

The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for contributing to cloud products and system design, working with engineering teams to solve complex problems, lead innovative projects, and evangelize cloud engineering excellence across the organization. This position brings deep experience in one or more cloud-related engineering fields and actively works to mature cloud engineering practices across the company.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.

  • Write code to solve complex problems, completing logic algorithms and system design in alignment with established standards.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to solve complex software problems in the cloud.
  • Design and drive the implementation of CI/CD pipelines to cloud environments with a focus on quality, security, and automation.
  • Establish engineering standards, procedures, and best practices related to operational efficiency, security, performance, reliability, deliverability, quality, and cost optimization.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex production issues, code issues, and low-level customer requests for assistance (RFAs).
  • Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and cloud engineering excellence.

Role Essentials

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 5+ years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or a related technical engineering field.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one cloud-related engineering field, including building and delivering enterprise applications and supporting cloud software in production.
  • Experience working with one or more public cloud providers and implementing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code deployments, and related systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud-native design principles and experience building systems that meet stringent quality, security, and compliance standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with executive presence, along with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage projects to completion independently.

  • Experience identifying and participating in new cloud technology research, proof of concepts (POCs), and innovation efforts.
