Senior Test Engineer

Location: Hyderabad, India Work Arrangement: Hybrid | 3 Days in Office, 2 Days Remote

About the Role

Hyland is building a next-generation UI framework and design system — Satori — powering all Hyland products. Satori is foundational to how our applications look, behave, and scale, making quality, accessibility, and reliability absolutely critical.

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will own and scale the quality and testing framework for Satori, ensuring high-quality, accessible UI components across Hyland products. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you will shape the quality strategy for a shared UI platform used across the entire Hyland ecosystem — influencing testing standards across multiple engineering teams.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust UI automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript, ensuring scalable and reliable test coverage across reusable UI components.
  • Build and execute functional, non-functional, and accessibility tests for shared UI components used across multiple Hyland products.
  • Ensure WCAG accessibility compliance by integrating accessibility testing into automation pipelines and promoting accessibility-first engineering practices.
  • Lead the overall test strategy for shared UI components, identifying test flakiness, analyzing failures, and partnering closely with engineering teams to drive resolution.
  • Contribute to and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines for test automation, build, and execution; review test automation code and promote clean code and design patterns.
  • Mentor junior engineers and influence testing standards, tools, and best practices across teams while serving as a trusted advisor on modern UI testing approaches and frameworks.

Technology Tools

  • Automation & Testing: Playwright, axe-core or equivalent accessibility scanning tools
  • Languages: TypeScript, JavaScript
  • Frameworks: Angular, Angular Material
  • Web Standards: HTML5, CSS Selectors, DOM Structure
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Git, CI/CD Pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)

Role Essentials

You'll need to have:

  • 6+ years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on UI test automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for UI automation, combined with advanced proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Solid experience testing Angular-based applications, including Angular Material components.
  • Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS selectors, DOM structure, and hands-on experience with web accessibility testing and assistive technologies.
  • Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch, with a strong understanding of testing best practices, test types, and test strategies.

What We'd Like to See

Extra credit if you have:

  • Experience defining and implementing UI quality and accessibility standards at scale across multiple engineering teams or shared platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to track, report, and act on quality metrics, defects, and trends to continuously elevate engineering standards.
  • Proficiency with Git-based version control workflows and hands-on experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and driving adoption of clean code principles and modern testing design patterns.
  • Proven track record as a trusted advisor on modern UI testing approaches, tools, and accessibility-first frameworks across cross-functional teams.
