About the Role

The Security Vulnerability Remediation Specialist is a developing Infrastructure Operations role responsible for assessing and executing remediation of security vulnerabilities across Hyland's internal infrastructure. In this role, you will work within established frameworks to complete patching, configuration changes, and mitigation activities across servers, networks, and endpoint systems. You will collaborate with Infrastructure teams and Cyber Security to understand vulnerability prioritization while independently executing assigned remediation tasks. Your Role Responsibilities — Here's What You'll Do

  • Review and assess vulnerability findings provided by Cyber Security and threat detection tools to understand risk context, criticality, and determine appropriate remediation approaches within established guidelines.
  • Independently execute remediation activities including patching, configuration changes, upgrades, and mitigation controls across servers, endpoints, and network devices following established procedures.
  • Maintain and enhance existing automation scripts and tools for patch deployment, configuration enforcement, and validation checks with guidance from senior team members.
  • Collaborate effectively with Infrastructure Support and Engineering teams to coordinate remediation activities and communicate status updates on assigned work.
  • Monitor and manage vulnerability remediation queues, track SLAs, and ensure accurate documentation and reporting for assigned systems and platforms.
  • Provide input into team processes and standards; may assist in mentoring new team members on remediation procedures and documentation requirements.

Role Essentials — What You Bring

  • Experience in infrastructure operations or a related IT security field, with a solid understanding of security vulnerability assessment, risk context, and remediation frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently execute remediation activities including patching, configuration changes, upgrades, and mitigation controls across servers, endpoints, and network devices.
  • Experience maintaining and enhancing automation scripts and tools for patch deployment, configuration enforcement, and validation, with a willingness to work collaboratively under guidance from senior team members.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Infrastructure Support, Engineering, and Cyber Security teams to coordinate remediation activities and provide timely status updates.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor and manage vulnerability remediation queues, track SLAs, and maintain accurate documentation and reporting for assigned systems and platforms.

What We'd Like to See — Preferred Skills

  • Demonstrated experience assessing vulnerability findings from threat detection tools, with the ability to understand risk context and criticality and determine appropriate remediation approaches within established guidelines.
  • Experience executing patching and configuration management activities across servers, endpoints, and network devices in a structured, compliance-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in maintaining and enhancing automation scripts and tools for patch deployment and configuration enforcement, with experience in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including Cyber Security and Infrastructure Engineering, with strong written and verbal communication skills for status updates and documentation.
  • Experience mentoring or onboarding new team members on remediation procedures and documentation standards, with a proactive approach to contributing to team processes and best practices.
