Overview

The Internal Project Manager is responsible for coordinating, planning, managing, and monitoring departmental projects from inception through closure, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role also incorporates process engineering responsibilities to analyze, design, and improve business processes that support project outcomes and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Assist with ensuring project results have an articulated scope with quantifiable business benefit
  • Apply basic best practices, project management methodologies, project documentation and tools
  • Document stakeholders’ success metrics and criteria for projects
  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings
  • Ensure projects progress on schedule, within budget, and in line with accepted requirements
  • Manage project planning tools and prioritization boards
  • Prepare project status reports and keep all stakeholders informed of project status, issues, and risks
  • Deliver timely and effective updates to all identified audiences

Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze current-state business and operational processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities
  • Partner with stakeholders to define future-state processes that align with project goals and business objectives
  • Document process workflows, requirements, and controls using standard methodologies (e.g., process maps, swim lanes, SOPs)
  • Support process standardization and optimization efforts across teams to improve consistency, quality, and scalability
  • Identify process dependencies, risks, and impacts as part of project planning and execution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure process changes are effectively integrated into project deliverables
  • Support change management efforts related to process improvements, including communication, training, and adoption planning
  • Track and report on process performance metrics to measure effectiveness and realized business benefits

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft Windows and Office proficient
  • Oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
  • Facilitation and project management skills
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Average travel requirements for this job is 30% annualized, yet unique circumstances with customers may require more travel.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job
