About This Role

The AVP, Chief Data Officer (CDO) drives a data-driven culture by defining the enterprise data strategy, overseeing data governance, and partnering with business analysts to maximize data's business value. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the CDO collaborates with executives and IS to ensure data quality, security, and alignment with strategic goals.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.

  • Develop and communicate enterprise data strategy to align with business objectives while championing a data-driven culture across the organization.
  • Establish and govern data management frameworks by implementing standardized governance structures, defining data principles, and enforcing policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance by developing measures to improve organizational trust in data and ensuring adherence to data protection regulations and standards.
  • Lead data investment and infrastructure initiatives by managing the data portfolio to drive strategic advantage and collaborating with IT to ensure infrastructure supports evolving data needs.
  • Optimize data value and accessibility by enhancing collection, management, and sharing processes while enabling enterprise-wide adoption of data-as-a-service.
  • Provide managerial direction, develop future leaders, and oversee all aspects of performance management for direct reports and teams; build a management bench capable of meeting the demands of rapid growth.

Role Essentials

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 10+ years of experience and a minimum of 7 years in prior management experience.
  • Demonstrated fiscal responsibility and accountability in managing budgets, with relevant senior-level management experience.
  • Experience with data analytics, business intelligence, and data warehousing, with strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data management practices.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and the ability to ensure organizational compliance with data protection standards.
  • Exceptional ability to develop and deliver engaging, informative, and compelling presentations; ability to coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members in a timely manner.

What We'd Like to See (Preferred Skills)

  • Proven ability to define and drive enterprise-wide data strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Experience orchestrating budgeting processes including strategy allocation and reconciliation.
  • Strong ability to influence internal and external peer industry groups and/or customers.
  • Demonstrated success building high-performing data teams and developing future leaders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% as required by the role.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this role is $242,000 - $320,000. The listed salary range represents a good faith estimate at the time of posting. The listed range may be adjusted in the future based on business needs. Actual compensation will be based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, skills and experience.
