Job Description
- The Product Owner (PO) is responsible for defining stories and prioritizing the team backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components for the team.
Responsibilities
- Drive the creation of user stories for all team-level work; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align stories to a minimal viable product (MVP)
- Work with internal stakeholders to continuously prioritize and refine the team backlog based on changing customer and business requirements.
- Regularly engage with customers partners and internal stakeholders to refine the minimally viable product (MVP) as needed.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to identify risks and dependencies; escalate and create awareness of dependencies across teams when needed; ensure team-level work is in alignment with portfolio investment status.
- Monitor schedules for all deliverables; continuously update stakeholders on team progress; raise awareness with leadership when delivery of product is at risk.
- Participate in internal industry and customer events; present or facilitate learning sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Good understanding of software development methodologies
- Sound business and technology acumen
- Proven problem solving critical thinking and analytical skills
- Good oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
- Good organizational multi-tasking and time management skills
- Good collaboration skills applied successfully within team and all levels of employees in other areas as well as ability to work independently as needed
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced deadline driven environment
- Ability to develop use and deliver engaging informative and compelling presentation methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others; effective at gaining consensus
- Ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner
- Up to 25% travel time required
