Currently we are looking for Infrastructure Administrator 2.

 

The Infrastructure Administrator II is responsible for the administration, security, and lifecycle management of enterprise infrastructure platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. This role focuses on infrastructure operations, platform reliability, modernization, and security hardening. While it is not a Help Desk or end-user support position, the role does include escalation support for complex infrastructure issues and occasional direct interaction with end users or requestors.

The position works across compute, virtualization, network, identity, security, and cloud systems to ensure performance, resilience, and compliance of core IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure Administration

  • Administer and maintain enterprise server, virtualization, storage, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Manage and optimize VMware vSphere/vCenter environments and virtual workloads.
  • Support Azure infrastructure services including identity, networking, compute, and hybrid integration.
  • Perform server lifecycle tasks including provisioning, configuration, patching, performance tuning, and decommissioning.
  • Administer enterprise storage platforms (e.g., NetApp ONTAP) and backup/recovery processes.

Network & Platform Infrastructure

  • Assist with administration of routing, switching, firewall, and load balancing technologies.
  • Support infrastructure components such as Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba controllers, IPAM, DNS (split DNS), and VPN appliances (Ivanti).
  • Maintain and document network diagrams and architecture standards.

Identity, Security & Compliance

  • Administer Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and directory services.
  • Enforce security standards, hardening guidelines, and access control policies.
  • Utilize CyberArk for privileged access management and credential security.
  • Leverage Rapid7 and other vulnerability management tools to identify, assess, and remediate risks.
  • Participate in infrastructure audits and compliance initiatives.

Cloud & Modern Workplace Technologies

  • Support Microsoft 365, Exchange (Online & On-Prem), SharePoint, and Intune.
  • Manage endpoint security and device management platforms including Defender, BitLocker, JAMF.
  • Implement hybrid infrastructure integrations between on-prem and Azure.

Automation, Monitoring & Reliability

  • Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts and configuration standards.
  • Use monitoring and asset tools such as ManageEngine, vCenter, and other observability tools.
  • Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and capacity; proactively address anomalies.
  • Implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.

Incident & Problem Management

  • Act as a Level 2 escalation point for infrastructure incidents originating from the Help Desk.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex infrastructure issues independently.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for recurring or high-impact incidents.
  • Document fixes, workarounds, and known errors for reuse by the broader IS organization.
  • Interact with requestors directly as needed to clarify requirements or provide guidance.

Project & Improvement Work

  • Contribute to infrastructure projects such as system upgrades, migrations, modernization, and security enhancements.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure documentation in Confluence and internal knowledge systems.
  • Provide technical input into process improvements and architectural decisions.

Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 4–6+ years of experience in Infrastructure Administration and Network Administration roles.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Windows Server administration
    • Active Directory and Group Policy
    • VMware vSphere/vCenter
    • Microsoft network environments
  • Working knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancing.
  • Experience with server hardware (Dell, IBM, Cisco UCS, HP).
  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, patching, and endpoint management tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104) certification
  • VMware certification (VCP or equivalent)
  • Experience with CyberArk (Privileged Access Management)
  • Experience with Rapid7 or enterprise vulnerability management platforms
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud infrastructure design
  • Knowledge of enterprise security frameworks and compliance standards

Academic Qualifications

  • Graduation in any relevant discipline

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Role is part of core infrastructure operations, not a helpdesk or end-user support position, but includes Level 2 escalation support.
  • Participation in on-call rotation required.
  • Ability to work flexible or shift hours when required for maintenance windows or incident response.
  • Fast-paced environment requires strong prioritization and technical adaptability.
