Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst (Power BI & Microsoft Fabric) partners with business and executive stakeholders to translate strategic and operational needs into trusted, governed, and actionable insights. This role designs, builds, and supports analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and enterprise data models, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business questions into Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and analytical insights.
  • Deliver monthly executive and leadership reporting, including KPI scorecards and performance trend analysis.
  • Provide ad hoc and recurring analytics to support operational, financial, and strategic initiatives.
  • Query and model data from Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake) using SQL and DAX.
  • Build and maintain certified and promoted Power BI datasets aligned to enterprise data standards.
  • Design intuitive, executive-ready Power BI reports that emphasize clarity, storytelling, and decision impact.
  • Apply best practices for performance optimization, data modeling, and visual design.
  • Support governed self-service analytics by enabling reusable datasets and standardized metrics.
  • Perform and document data quality, reconciliation, and integrity checks across reports and datasets.
  • Partner with data engineering and data governance teams to improve data reliability, lineage, and metric definitions.
  • Support role-based security, row-level security (RLS), and workspace governance.
  • Administer Power BI and Fabric workspaces, including security, content lifecycle management, and report publishing standards.
  • Manage report libraries, certified content, and versioning in alignment with CI/CD and Git-based workflows.
  • Support adoption of deployment pipelines and Dev/Test/Prod promotion practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Intelligence or Data Analyst
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI (reports, datasets, DAX)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or Azure analytics (Warehouse, Lakehouse, OneLake)
  • Experience with Power BI deployment pipelines and CI/CD
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and validating data
  • Advanced Excel skills for analysis and validation
  • Experience working with executive stakeholders and translating business needs into analytics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
