Overview

The Analytics Engineer 2 models and analyses data to produce actionable, educational, and informative reports that help key business stakeholders uncover meaningful insights.

 

The Analytics Engineer 2 must have a generic understanding of the architecture, infrastructure, and tooling used within the data ecosystem, as well as best practices for ingesting data and building data pipelines.

 

Hyland uses Microsoft Fabric as its primary data analytics platform, along with complementary tools such as dbt and Fivetran, which extend and enhance the capabilities of the overall data infrastructure. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to collect business requirements, define successful analytics outcomes and design data models while considering non-functional requirements such as performance and cost constraints and security policies.
  • Configure ELT tools, integration platforms and orchestration systems to best practice, supporting the development of a modern cloud data warehouse that is accurate, reliable, high‑performing, and easily accessible to business teams.
  • Supplement the data assets created with supporting documentation to allow these assets to be easily reused by other team members and teams as necessary.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure and data governance teams to align with and contribute to the company data strategy.
  • Prioritize quality and data accuracy across all operations and deliverables.
  • Maintain a strong focus on continuous learning
  • Understand business/department needs and goals and contribute towards the greater good of the team and the organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Python is considered an asset, though not a requirement for the role.
  • Hands on experience with modern BI tools (Tableau or Power BI)  
  • Experience modeling with dbt, pyspark (Fabric) or another data modeling tool for data transformation
  • Basic data architecture and design skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
  • Strong organizational multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Strong collaboration skills applied successfully within team as well as with all levels of employees in other areas
  • Strong leadership sound judgement and business acumen skills
